Get Coached

Get Coached

Do you want to work as a business coach?  If so, you have opted for a very potentially profitable career.  With the struggling economy, many businesses are barely staying afloat financially.  They need help from a professional and they need it now.  That professional can be you.

When it comes to business coaching, you will find many similarities between sports coaching.  In fact, if targeting the self-employed, home business owners and small business owners, you should use the analogy.  Some know they need business help, but don’t actually know what a business coach is.  Comparing business coaching with sports coaching is an easy way to make them understand.

As previously stated, business coaching and sports coaching are very similar.  How?

Most sports are team sports.

For example, there is football, baseball, basketball, and volleyball.  One team member can have an amazing game, but overall the team can still lose.  Everyone needs to work together to see success.

When coaching small to medium sized business owners, emphasize the importance of teamwork.  Both offices and retail settings are in disarray when no one is on the same page.  The workplace is likely hectic and unorganized.  Poor teamwork also leads to troubling and disruptive workplace conflict.  A good example is when two coworkers are working jointly on a project.  One is pulling their weight and the other is slacking off.  Conflict is likely.

As a business coach, do not just highlight the importance of teamwork.  Show your clients teambuilding exercises, offer tips, and work hands on with the entire staff.

With basketball, the coaches call the plays.

These plays have been gone over and practiced before.  It isn’t the coach’s job to score a basket or stop the opposing team from scoring.  It is up to the players to remember their training and practice drills.  The same is true for business coaching.

When working with a client, don’t do all the work for them.

This teaches them nothing.  Show your clients how to do it themselves.  For example, if your client has a poorly organized office, pickup a few items to show them how it is done.  Then, make suggestions.  Let them handle the rest.  You gave your client a play, showed them how it was done, and let them score the point.

This leads to another similarity.

Coaches not only watch their players score a basket.  They analyze their actions and provide feedback.  As a business coach, do the same.  Use the above mentioned example of watching an office manager or owner organize their office.  Once finished, point out what they did right, what they did wrong, and how they can make improvements, both now and in the long-term future.

With sports, coaches use practice and training to buildup strength and to practice play calls.  You can and should do the same.  With small to medium sized businesses, work with more than just the owner.  Work with the entire team.  Don’t just stand in front of the room and talk or handout reading material.  You will lose their interest and quick.  Instead, rely on fun exercises.  To show peaceful ways to resolve conflict in the workplace, use role-playing and two volunteers.

As you can see, there are many similarities between business coaching and sport coaching.  In fact, if you are new to the game and have yet to develop a business plan, look at sports.  You can learn many successful tips on how to run a smooth, successful, and profitable coaching service.

Arctic treaty

Arctic treaty

Arctic treaty would be great, it would be assuring for all those people that respect the natural environment of our planet earth.  There is evidence from the Antarctic treaty that it is possible for States to think above the normal commercial interest and corporate greed.

The commercial industrial world  is too often plain greedy and mad as hell. Bent on continues churning of the natural resources into the materialistic commercial world.  Corporations are driven by the greed for more money than they have ever achieved before.  The up trends of profit making and industrial efficiency of the robotics and labor cuts and  savings, amount to an escalation of objective financial market goals with no regard to the quality of life for the people that are in the labor force. The leaders of many nations have a tunnel vision with nothing else in the peripheral vision that cranking out raw materials and changing it into money.  The are obsessed with the greed of natural resource exploitation.  They may think that they are some form of god, and they too often are also atheists, not believing in absolutes, not believing that they will be accountable one day to their greedy in exploitation’s of the natural resources.

How does the planet earth benefit, of the peoples of the planet, when the consumption of crude oil, coal, natural gas are increased to stupendous levels, and the hundreds of thousands of factories and millions of industrial engines, freight carting container ships,  freight trains, mining trucks, tractors, and millions of motor vehicles are manufactured and sent out to the world each week.  What a bloody mess they are creating for the future generations.

Moderation of the Natural resources.

Moderation is taught in all of the well known religions and spiritual teachings through out the world. This is included in the Taoism teachings.

In Taoism, moderation is considered a key part of one’s personal development in Taoist philosophy and religion and is one of the three jewels of Taoist thought. There is nothing that cannot be moderated including one’s actions, ones desires and even thoughts.

Moderation is considered to be a key part of one’s personal development. The problem with the Capitalistic world too often is that they don’t value personal development.  They only value their own personal or corporate gain, running the race, beating all others to the imagined financial price.  The western teaching system is not the only culprit, the communists were just as greedy for personal career positions and zealous for climbing their institute social ladder.  The way they treated their neighboring States was criminal, they conspired to invade, exploit and rampage the neighboring states wealth, property and land.  The power politic leaders were driven by personal ambitions and selfish gain, no matter where and what country they raised their head.

Arctic treaty would confront the state leaders to the future reality of a clean natural environment at the Arctic region.

The Arctic circle was once some kind of a barrier to stop the industrial revolution from crossing it.  It was during the 19 century that that line was crossed.  The second world war was one reason why industrial  metal mining went north in Europe.  In some states leader’s minds wars are no obstacle to further industrial development and further weapons development and innovation, they have even tested atoms bombs in the Arctic region.  Why is that?  The answer is in their cognitive mind, their understanding of the world view, seen in merely as a possession, consumption or occupation of an territory.  Their self-worth and esteem is measured by; how much, how big, how many, what conquest, from who, in a quantitative measure they have in relative terms.  But what about  the true value of life, the natural environment, and the many skills of managing and organizing the human impact on the natural environment.  Why is that not seen as a desirable goal, something with a quantitative measure and true value to be proud of.   To respect life, and to value the true meaning of a spiritual life.  The concept of a spiritual life, the values are poles apart from natural resources material exploitation.  Grabbing, hiding and stealing is no longer seen as a proud achievement, but it is seen in the light of the spiritual values, and therefore, it is more on the shame side than respectful side on the scale of true values.     Arctic treaty should be seen as having true spiritual value.
